DESCRIPTION

This grouping of menu items contain functions used by various business staff.

Before You Start

• The CMBHS user’s business entity’s contract with DSHS must specify that the provider is to use CMBHS to submit claims for services they have provided to some or all DSHS funded clients.
• The user location must provide services that will use this payment method and are documented in CMBHS.
• The user must be assigned a role that authorizes access to the claim function. For more information about the CMBHS roles that have read and write access to these pages, CLICK HERE.
• The client must have a profile in CMBHS, must be admitted to a program and have received services from that program that are documented in progress notes and attendance records.
• Before you view or document in a client record, always verify that you have the correct client by checking the client’s name and at least one other identifier at the top of the page before you begin

Client Payments

This menu item is used to access the page used for documentation of payments collected from the client.

Services Offered 

This menu item gives the provider access to services offered pages.

Search Claims

Claims functions are under this header.

• Pending Claims

The CMBHS Pending Claims page and function allows the user to view and search for pending claims for the user’s location. The Pending Claims page displays a list of billable claims that have not yet been submitted to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). When a claim has been submitted, it will no longer appear on the Pending Claims page.

• Submitted Claims

The CMBHS Submitted Claims page and function allows the user to view and search submitted claims. The Submitted Claims page displays a list of claims that have been submitted by the provider to DSHS for payment. From this page, the status of the claim can be monitored, as it moves through the payment process.

Contracts

This menu tab gives the user access to this provider's contracts with DSHS for the purpose of submitting Invoices and requesting Advances.

Provider Location Detail

This takes the user to pages containing information about the various locations the provider maintains, the services provided there and important contact names and numbers.
